Would you like to work for the charity that cares for hundreds of historic sites in every corner of England? We are looking for a Visitor Assistant to join us at Brodsworth Hall working a variety of hours per week.

No history background? No problem. What is important to us is a passion for people and excellent customer service. You will enjoy working with others as part of a team and understand what makes excellent customer service to deliver an engaging visitor experience to a diverse audience.

Heritage is for everybody, and we are here for heritage.

Heritage lives in places and people, memories and stories, artefacts and traditions. It can connect us all to the past, and to each other. It can make us happier, strengthen every community, and help shape society for the better. Everybody should be able to enjoy the benefits it brings. That's why, as a charity, we care for over a million objects and hundreds of historic sites in every part of England, from international icons to local treasures. And it's why we open them up, share their stories and find new ways for everybody to enjoy, learn, play and create.

As a Brodsworth Hall Visitor Assistant, you will join an amazing team of employees and volunteers, making sure visitors have a great time from the moment they arrive until they say goodbye. This is a varied role and some days will be busy from start to finish, whereas others may be quieter especially on the wetter days! No two days are the same and you can expect to find yourself cleaning the site toilets and shop to ensure the very best customer standards across the whole site.

The role will be based in the Visitor Centre and tasks will include answering the telephone, using the tills for sales, directing visitors on their arrival, restocking shelves, cleaning the public toilets and visitor areas and driving membership sales.

Brodsworth Hall, standing in the countryside 6 miles outside Doncaster City Centre, is a fine example of a Victorian Country House and gardens with a fabulous collection of original furniture and contents in the care of English Heritage since 1990.

The award-winning gardens have featured on television and in films a number of times and every season brings something new to see in the beds, from snowdrops and daffodils in Spring to glorious formal beds in the summer.

Throughout the year Brodsworth hosts a variety of events including Band Sundays and a Classic car festival.
