ENGLISH HERITAGE DRAW TERMS AND CONDITIONS

To be entered into the prize draw, you must purchase an annual English Heritage Membership by annual Direct Debit by the Closing Date of 24 March 2026 and use the promotion code which appears on the email received. 

Your details will then be entered into draw where winners will be randomly selected to receive an annual Gift of Membership. 

No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered

These terms and conditions apply to the Gift of membership prize draw running from 00.01am on 1 March 2026 (‘the Opening Date’) until 23.59pm on 24 March 2026 (‘the Closing Date’) (‘the Prize Draw’).

ELIGIBILITY

To enter the Prize Draw, you must purchase any annual English Heritage Membership by annual Direct Debit between the Opening Date and Closing Date and use the promotion code which appears on the email sent out. Any English Heritage Memberships purchased after 24 March 2026 will not be entered into this Prize Draw.

The Prize Draw is only open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, excluding English Heritage employees or members of their immediate families or households. English Heritage reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draw.
The winner will be selected at random by English Heritage. The decision of English Heritage will be final.

Any English Heritage Memberships purchased during this period with cancelled payments will be removed from the Prize Draw. English Heritage will confirm payment of the English Heritage Membership has been made before confirming the winner.

THE PRIZE
25 winners will be randomly selected from people who received the promotional English Heritage membership email and has purchased an English Heritage Membership by annual Direct Debit during the set time period and quoting the promotion code featured on the email to win an annual Gift of membership 

English Heritage reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. 

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

English Heritage will contact the winners directly by 29 April 2026, using the contact details provided with the English Heritage Membership purchase.

The decision of English Heritage is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

English Heritage will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 7 days, English Heritage reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the purchased English Heritage Memberships during the prize draw period.

English Heritage does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Insofar as is permitted by law, English Heritage, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of English Heritage, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY

By entering the Prize Draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Prize Draw entry may be held and used only by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the Prize Draw, to process your English Heritage Membership and to contact you about your English Heritage Membership. All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including: (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation; (ii) the UK GDPR; (iii) the English Heritage Privacy Policy https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/about-us/our-people/our-policies/ ; and (iv) the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended. We will keep your personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without your knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. We will keep your personal data only for the purposes of communicating with you regarding this Prize Draw. You shall have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.  The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

By entering the Prize Draw, if you are a winner, you agree that English Heritage may make use of your full name, image, English Heritage Membership type and county of residence for post-event publicity purposes on social media channels, websites and in any other media and English Heritage publications without your permission or paying you anything. You may also be asked to participate in further reasonable publicity arising from the Prize Draw. You further agree to the use of your names, images and any video or voice recordings of you in any media in, perpetuity, as English Heritage sees fit.

English Heritage must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation English Heritage will send the surname and county of residence of the winner to anyone who emails Marketing@english-heritage.org.uk or writes to English Heritage Customer Services, The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon SN2 2EH  (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Closing Date.

If you object to any or all of your surname and county of residence being published or made available, please contact English Heritage via the website https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/. In such circumstances, English Heritage must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

GENERAL

Entry in the Prize Draw signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, English Heritage may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Prize Draw.

English Heritage reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
