TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• 1. The Promoter

  1.1 The promoter is: English Heritage of The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon SN2 2EH.

• 2. The Competition

  2.1 The title of the competition is Members' Week 2023 Competition.

• 3. How to Enter

  3.1 The competition will run from 00:01am on Monday 10 April 2023 to 11:59pm on Monday 17 April 2023 inclusive.
  

  3.2All entries must be received by the English Heritage by no later than 11:59pm on Monday 17 April 2023. All entries received after this time are automatically disqualified.

  3.3 To enter the competition:

  Enter the competition online by selecting the correct answers and completing the online entry form provided.

  3.4   English Heritage will not accept:

  (a) responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

  (b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the prize draw.

  3.5 By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  3.6 The competition winners will be selected at random by English Heritage. The decision made by English Heritage acting reasonably will be final.

• 4. Eligibility

  4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except: employees or members of their immediate families or households of English Heritage or Hurtigruten or their holding or subsidiary companies.

  4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. English Heritage may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter.

  4.3 English Heritage will not accept entries that are:

  (a) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or
  (b) incomplete.

  4.4 There is a limit of one entry per person per day.

  4.5 English Heritage reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

• 5. The Prize

  5.1 One English Heritage Member will win a 12-day Northern Lights Classic Round Voyage for two with direct flights and £200 per person onboard spending money when they correctly answer a question featured in the English Heritage Members' E-newsletter. Separate terms and conditions apply for this prize (see item 11 below).

  5.2 Competition winner’s name may be required to feature in Member email or magazine with a quote from them about their trip provided by Hurtigruten. They may also be asked to share their experiences for a Hurtigruten advertorial feature. 

• 6. Winner Announcement

  6.1 English Heritage will contact the winner personally by 28 April 2023, using the email address provided with the entry.

  6.2 The decision of English Heritage is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

  6.3 English Heritage will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 7 days, English Heritage reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received before 11:59pm on 17 April 2023.

  6.4 English Heritage does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

• 7. Limitation of Liability

  7.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, English Heritage, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of English Heritage, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

• 8. Ownership of Prize Draw Entries and Intellectual Property Rights

  8.1 English Heritage does not claim any rights of ownership in your prize draw entry.

• 9. Data Protection and Publicity

  9.1 By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the prize draw entry may be held and used only by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the competition.

• 10. General

  10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, English Heritage may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

  10.2 English Heritage reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

  10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

• 11. Hurtigruten Terms and Conditions

  11.1 The prize is non-transferable and is for selected travel dates only between 1 October 2023 and 31 March 2024.

  11.2 The prize is for two people, travelling together, and includes direct flights from a choice of regional airports, transfers in Bergen, outside cabin for two sharing, full board, coffee, tea, Wi-Fi and £200 per person onboard spending money.

  11.3 Entrants must be over 18 and hold a valid passport
