Six new blue plaques for women
1 April 2021 – The crystallographer and peace campaigner, Kathleen Lonsdale has today been celebrated with an English Heritage London Blue Plaque, on the 50th anniversary of her death. Kathleen Lonsdale is the first of six illustrious women to be commemorated by English Heritage with a London Blue Plaque in 2021. Other recipients include social reformer Caroline Norton, designer Jean Muir, former slave and campaigner Ellen Craft, barrister Helena Normanton and Diana, Princess of Wales.

Blue Plaque for Animal Welfare campaigner, Maria Dickin
Maria Dickin, the pioneer of free treatment for sick animals whose owners could not afford to pay for it, has been honoured with an English Heritage Blue Plaque on the Hackney house in which she was born and close to the area of London in which she first started her work.

Blue Plaque unveiled to Samuel Beckett
A house in Chelsea which was home to both the dramatist Samuel Beckett and the eminent physicist Patrick Blackett will today (Wednesday 20 April 2016) become one of the few buildings in London to bear two official Blue Plaques, English Heritage has announced.
