Winter Solstice sunrise to be live streamed from Stonehenge
The winter solstice sunrise at Stonehenge will be live-streamed this year, as English Heritage cannot host the usual celebrations at the prehistoric stones due to the pandemic.

The trailblazing female barrister and champion of women’s rights, Helena Normanton, has today been commemorated with an English Heritage London blue plaque. Erected almost 100 years after she passed her Bar finals (on 26 October 1921), the plaque marks 22 Mecklenburgh Square, Normanton’s home from 1919 to 1931, the period when she was forging her legal career. Whilst living there, she funded her training and supplemented her income by letting rooms in the large property.

Angela Carter receives English Heritage blue plaque
English Heritage has commemorated the legacy of award winning novelist Angela Carter with a blue plaque at her former home in Clapham. It was at this house, 107, The Chase, that Carter spent the last sixteen years of her life. She often tutored her then student, Kazuo Ishiguro, at the kitchen table and received fellow writers – J.G. Ballard, Ian McEwan, Salman Rushdie – as guests.
