Step back in time to the 1870s and explore the fascinating craftsmanship the Lake District. This event includes a guided tour of the last surviving Bobbin Mill in the area as well as a demonstration of oak swill basket making.

The demonstration will be led by Owen Jones, the most experienced swill basket maker in the UK. During the demonstration, Owen will outline the tradition of swill basket making which is rooted in the history of the southern Lake District as well as how local coppice woods were managed.

This tour is graded as moderate access as this is a walking your covering uneven terrain including some stairs.
