Jazz is often referred to as ‘America’s classical music’ because of its artistic depth and historical importance. Come and see why.
Join us in Osborne’s beautiful Victoria Hall with its views over the terraces, for an evening of soulful and scintillating Jazz, performed by renowned international singer Hannah Brear, accompanied by Steinway artist, James Longford. Together they will perform classic and contemporary jazz classics by Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Eva Cassidy and Norah Jones.
This concert will include a tapas style supper.
About the performers:
Hannah Brear: Singer
Hannah Brear developed her passion for singing jazz in the south of France where she taught at the Perpignan Conservatoire of Music. She has become well-known as a classical crossover artist, performing twice at Carnegie Hall, New York. Hannah enjoys putting her own spell-binding twists on old-school smooth jazz standards as well as more contemporary jazz classics.
James Longford: Pianist
Steinway artist James Longford’s musicality has endeared him to audiences all over the world, in venues such as the Carnegie Hall, Oslo Opera House, Venice Biennale, and Milan Fondazione Cariplo, as well as closer to home at the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, London Palladium, and Newport Minster.
