These terms and conditions apply to the Kenilworth Castle Legendary Joust social media competition, running on the official Kenilworth Castle social media accounts (“the participating sites”) from 13:00 BST on Wednesday 10 July 2024 until 17:00 BST on Tuesday 16th July 2024.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Promoter is: The English Heritage Trust, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 7447221 and charity number 1140351 whose registered office is at The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH (‘English Heritage’).

 

  1. These terms and conditions apply to the Kenilworth Castle Legendary Joust prize draw (‘the Prize Draw’), running on the official English Heritage Instagram and Facebook accounts (@EnglishHeritage) from 13:00 BST on Wednesday 10th July 2024. until 17:00 BST on Tuesday 16th July 2024.

 

  1. This Prize Draw is only open to residents of the United Kingdom.

 

  1. To enter the Prize Draw, Entrants will be required to like and tag a friend in the comment section of the relevant prize draw post. Entrants who comment on the post will be entered into the Prize Draw.

 

  1. Entries submitted in any other way or after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified and no responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  2. The prize is a one-day family ticket (A family ticket is valid for the entry of 2 Adults and up to 3 Children) for free entry to the Legendary Joust at Kenilworth Castle. The Legendary Joust is due to take place at Kenilworth Castle on 20 July 2024 and 21 July 2024. The winning Entrant may choose to attend the Legendary Joust on either date over the event weekend but cannot attend both days.

 

  1. No entry fee or purchase is necessary to enter the Prize Draw.

 

  1. The name and Instagram handle (if applicable) of the winner may be used by English Heritage and shared on English Heritage’s official Instagram and Facebook accounts. The parents or legal guardians of any winning Entrant under the age of 18 years must complete a Consent Form consenting to the use of the Entrant’s name and Instagram handle (if applicable) for publicity purposes on English Heritage’s website, print and social media and any other media.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

 

  1. The winner will be selected at random on Tuesday 16th July 2024.

 

  1. The winner will be contacted within 48 hours of the Closing Date by English Heritage via Instagram or Facebook.

 

  1. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 48 hours of notification, English Heritage reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and offer the prize to another Entrant selected from the entries that were received before the Closing Date.

 

  1. There is no alternative prize and the prize may not be transferred to another person.

 

  1. By entering the Prize Draw, the winner consents to the use of their name and image for publicity purposes on social media channels, websites and in any other media and agrees to attend any publicity events related to the Prize Draw.

 

  1. English Heritage must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation English Heritage will send the surname and county of residence of the winner to anyone who sends a private message to English Heritage owned social channels, emails social@english-heritage.org.uk or writes to The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH, FAO The Social Media Team (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month of the Prize Draw closing. If the Entrant objects to any or all of their surname and county of residence being published or made available, they must contact social@english-heritage.org.uk. In such circumstances, English Heritage must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

 

  1. By entering the Prize Draw, Entrants are agreeing that any personal information provided with the entry may be held and used by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the Prize Draw. All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation, as well as (ii) the UK GDPR; and (iii) the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended. English Heritage will keep the Entrant’s personal data safe and secure. English Heritage will not share it with other organisations without the Entrant’s knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. English Heritage will keep the Entrant’s personal data only for the purposes of communicating with the entrant regarding this Prize Draw. The Entrant shall have the right to withdraw their consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

 

  1. Employees or contractors of English Heritage, any person directly or indirectly involved in English Heritage or the running of the Prize Draw, or their direct family members are not eligible to participate in the Prize Draw.

 

  1. English Heritage’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives. English Heritage reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value. English Heritage reserves the right to cancel the Prize Draw at any stage if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

 

  1. Entry in the Prize Draw signifies acceptance of these rules. English Heritage reserves the right to withhold, change or cancel the prize in the event of non-compliance with these rules. English Heritage also reserves the right at its discretion to cancel or amend the Prize Draw rules at any time.

 

  1. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook or any other social network. The entrant is providing their information to English Heritage and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/about-us/our-people/our-policies/.

 

  1. The rules of this Prize Draw shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising out of these terms and conditions.
