Fort House at St Mawes Castle
Fort House is a two-bedroom holiday cottage that comfortably sleeps four people, offering a spacious and airy setting in a single storey terrace with a private garden, which provides uninterrupted views of the spectacular Cornish coastline. The cottage has two bedrooms, a dining room, kitchen and living room. Due to its commanding position, in WW2 Fort House was used by the military as an observation post and even had the roof reinforced with two feet of concrete to protect it from aerial attack from enemy aircraft. It is also in a great position for exploring the Cornish coast and a short walk leads you into the centre of the picturesque fishing village of St Mawes. Included in your booking is a luxury hamper, as well as entry to all English Heritage sites and most events, 10% off in our shops and cafés during your stay. Discover St Mawes Castle
This spacious and airy single storey holiday cottage sits in a private garden approximately 100m from St Mawes Castle, providing uninterrupted views of the spectacular Cornish coastline.
Due to its commanding position, in the Second World War the Fort House was used by the military as an observation post. In this time, the roof was reinforced with two feet of concrete to protect it from an aerial attack, making it bomb proof from enemy aircraft.
A short walk from the cottage leads you to the centre of the picturesque fishing village of St Mawes, complete with whitewashed cottages, galleries, character pubs and restaurants.
