Bookings now open for visits to English Heritage interiors
English Heritage is welcoming visitors back into its historic buildings from 17 May 2021. As well as opening 23 sites for the first time this year, on 17 May the charity will also extend access to the interiors of more than 50 of its properties which are currently open to visitors as outdoor spaces only. To ensure a safe and enjoyable visitor experience, both members and non-members must book in advance for a specific date and time slot via the English Heritage website.

Evidence of Lost Saint: Uncovered
A previously overlooked entry in a 15th-century manuscript has been uncovered by English Heritage, providing new evidence that one of medieval England’s most influential figures, Thurstan was, contrary to belief, a saint. The document – a service book from Pontefract Priory - lists St Thurstan in a calendar of saints' feast days observed at the monastery.

For the first time in more than 500 years, the two separated halves of Tintagel Castle will be reunited thanks to a daring new footbridge unveiled by the charity English Heritage today (Thursday 8 August 2019). From tomorrow, visitors will be able to walk in the footsteps of the medieval inhabitants of the Cornish castle – inextricably linked with the legend of King Arthur – and enjoy spectacular coastal views not seen since the Middle Ages.
