Blue Plaques

Thank you for your submission

Thank you for submitting a nomination form to English Heritage blue plaques.

What's next?

Thank you for submitting your blue plaque nomination.

The information you have provided will be checked and if your suggestion passes the basic eligibility criteria, it will be considered by the Blue Plaques Panel. This awarding body meets three times a year; however, owing to the popularity of the scheme there is currently a wait of about 18 months before new suggestions can be considered.

Please note that the award of a blue plaque is a competitive and selective process and the Panel may turn down a suggestion, defer a decision for further information, or approve in principle for more detailed research. You will be informed of its decision by letter. Only about one in five suggestions is approved for further research.

As English Heritage is subject to the Freedom of Information Act the information that you provide to us may become publicly available. Any disclosures that are made will be in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. The information that you give us will also be kept in line with that Act and only used in relation to your nomination. It will not be provided to third parties.

Any questions?

If you have any questions while completing the Form or on the Blue Plaques Scheme please email: Blue.Plaques@english-heritage.org.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
