How to Enter

Share your favourite photo of an English Heritage site with #EHExplorer on Instagram or add your photo to the pinned post on the regional site Facebook page.

Entries must be received during the Half Term Explorer Quest event. For Audley End, Battle Abbey, Dover Castle, Eltham Palace, Framlingham Castle, Brodsworth Hall and Wrest Park this is from 09:00 BST on 12th February 2022 until 23:59 BST on 27th Feb 2022 and for Beeston Caslte, Belsay Hall, Bolsover Castle, Carisbrooke Castle, Goodrich Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Osborne House, Pendennis Castle, Stokesay Castle, Stonehenge, Whitby Abbey this is from 09:00 BST on 19th February 2022 until 23:59 BST on 27th Feb 2022 to be eligible for entry into the competition. This competition is only open to residents of the United Kingdom.

All entries must be the sole work of the entrant. By entering this competition, individuals consent to allowing English Heritage using, reposting, repurposing or sharing across their website, print and social media for Marketing purposes in perpetuity. The entry, name and Instagram handle (if applicable) of the overall winner and runners up will be used by English Heritage and shared on English Heritage’s official Instagram account. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

Selecting the Winner

Five winners will be selected from all eligible entries received. The winners will each receive a variety of outdoor games. English Heritage will contact each winner via Instagram or Facebook to arrange delivery of their prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 24 hours of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from that winner and pick a replacement winner.

Your Data

All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation, as well as (ii) the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) and any other directly applicable European Union regulation relating to data protection and privacy (for so long as and to the extent that the law of the European Union has legal effect in the UK). We will keep your personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without your knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. We will keep your personal data only for the purposes of communicating with you regarding this competition.

Additional

Employees or contractors of English Heritage, any person directly or indirectly involved in English Heritage or the running of the competition, or their direct family members are not eligible for the prize.

English Heritage’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives. English Heritage reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value. English Heritage reserves the right to cancel the competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

Entry in the competition signifies acceptance of these rules. English Heritage reserves the right to withhold, change or cancel the prize in the event of non-compliance with these rules. English Heritage also reserves the right at its discretion to amend the competition rules at any time.
