Mount Grace Priory, House and Gardens

Attics

The attics of Mount Grace Priory give visitors a glimpse of the architectural details of the roof and a great vantage point from which to view the priory ruins and gardens.

During the 1920s and 1930s, the attic space was used as a nursery by the Bell family. On one wall, names and scratches can be seen marking the heights of John and Hugo Bell and their cousin Nora Faith who spent many hours playing in the attics.

We are now conducting further research into the rooms to discover how else the rooms were used since the Mount Grace Priory Manor House was built.
