How to use The Holiday Pass

  • Step 1: Purchase online

    Purchase your Holiday Pass by clicking the red button above. Choose the date you'd like your pass to start and select either a 7-day or 14-day pass.

  • Step 2: Plan your adventure

    With hundreds of historic places to choose from, start planning where you'll visit first. From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, there's plenty to discover.

  • Step 3: Explore as much as you like

    Additional charges may apply on event days. There's plenty of time to explore, but all visits must be completed by 13 September 2026.

  • Step 4: Have a great holiday

    Pack up the family and start exploring. With hundreds of historic sites to choose from, the Holiday Pass makes it easy to enjoy memorable days out all summer long!

Frequently asked questions

  • Who can buy a pass?

    The pass is available in a range of categories, including Adult, Joint Adult, Senior, and Family options.

  • Are concession discounts available?

    Yes. We offer Senior passes for visitors aged 65 and over, with both Single and Joint Senior options available. Please note that both pass holders must be aged 65+ to purchase a Joint Senior pass.

  • When does my pass become active?

    Your 7/14 days will begin on the date selected during the purchase; it will remain valid for either 7 or 14 consecutive days, depending on the option purchased.

  • Can I change the start date of my pass?

    Unfortunately, once your pass has been purchased, the start date cannot be changed. Your pass will automatically become active on the date selected at the time of booking, and the validity period cannot be paused or extended. Please note that all visits must be completed by 13 September 2026.

  • How do I activate my pass and what will I receive?

    When purchasing your pass, you’ll be asked to select a start date. Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing a QR code. Simply present this QR code when you arrive at our sites.

  • I haven’t received my QR code email — what should I do?

    Please check your junk or spam folder first, as the email may have been filtered there. If you still can’t find it, contact our Customer Service team on 0370 333 1181 and we’ll arrange for the email to be resent to the address used during purchase.

  • Are there any restrictions on which sites I can visit?

    Yes, there are a small number of exclusions. Please see the full list below for sites:

    • Properties in the care of Cadw or Historic Scotland
    • Guided tours
    • Locally managed properties, including: Hylton Castle, Calshot Castle, Castle Rising, Chiswick House, Denny Abbey and Farmland Museum, Hurst Castle, Landguard Fort, Longthorpe Tower, Lulworth Castle, Maison Dieu, Rochester Castle, Upnor Castle, Alexander Keiller Museum, Avebury, Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life, Aldborough Roman Town, York Cold War Bunker, Stott Park Bobbin Mill, Jewry Wall, Kirby Muxloe Castle, JW Evans Silver Factory, Ranger’s House, Apethorpe Palace, Rushton Triangular Lodge, Aydon Castle, and Prudhoe Castle.
