Local sculpture artist Rob Smith creates a trail of multi-dimensional works that explore the relationship with nature, perception and relationships with the world around us.
'Thoughtful Reflection' features works nestled throughout the gardens and woodlands, incorporated within the flora and fauna of the changing landscape.
Statement from the Artist:
TO INTERACT WITH THE CYCLE OF NATURE THAT NEVER STOPS,
ADAPTING TO THE SEASONAL ELEMENTS THAT ROLL EVER ONWARD
ON CONSTANT REPEAT.
THE HARSH REALITY OF STRUGGLE AND ADVERSITY THAT MIRRORS
OUR OWN LIVES.
UNCERTAINTY GROUNDED IN THE REALITY THAT THE SUN WILL
ALWAYS RISE TOMMORROW AND NIGHT WILL FALL, OUTLASTING OUR
FRAGILE AND ALL BUT TOO BRIEF TIME AMONGST IT.
SO TAKE TIME TO JUST BE IN THIS WONDERFUL PLACE, NATURE AT
ITS FINEST.BREATH IN THE VIEWS, THE BIRDSONG, THE TRANQUILITY
OF THE STILLNESS.
THE SCULPTURES AN INTERUPTION, A MOMENT TO PAUSE, LOOK,
THINK AND REFLECT?
CREATED IN THE HOPE THAT THEY CONNECT WITH, PROMPT,
SUGGEST AND PROVOKE THE VIEWER INTO A MOMENT OF
THOUGHTFULLNESS.
AN ARTIST CAN BUT HOPE TO CREATE WORKS THAT ARE NOT JUST
LOOKED AT BUT STIR WITHIN AND ARE RESPONDED TO
