Witley Court and Gardens Facilities

  • Parking

    Parking charges apply to non-members. Parking free for members. The car park has over 100 spaces (including an overflow car park) and is adjacent to the visitor centre (approx. 500 metres from the house). The path has a hard surface, but wheelchair users will probably need assistance. There are four coach bays available. Please note: There is no off site parking available. 

  • Food And Drink

    Hot and cold drinks are available in the visitor centre. Light refreshments are also available, including crisps, chocolate and flapjacks. When the sun’s shining (and sometimes when it’s not) keep an eye out for our Ice Cream Van and try some of our delicious ice cream. There is an independent tearoom located next to the house which is open daily from April to October.

  • Picnic Area

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to eat in the grounds. There is a picnic area with tables next to the visitor centre, and plenty of grass on which to lay out your picnic blanket.
  • Shop

    The gift shop is located within the visitor centre selling a wide range of English Heritage souvenirs and gifts, as well as light refreshments.
  • Toilets

    Male, female and disabled toilets (with baby changing facilities) are located next to the visitor centre. Please be aware that there are no facilities at the court.
  • Dogs

    Dogs are allowed however must be kept on a lead at all times.

  • Gardens

    V

    The grounds at Witley Court extend over 40 acres and include a lake, woodland, wilderness and formal gardens. There are paths throughout and a number of rest stops available. A huge variety of birds and wildlife can also be seen, including kingfishers, great crested grebes and woodpeckers.

  • Audio Tours

    An audio guide is available onsite using your phone or handset.

    Please note: Printed transcriptions of the audio tour are available, as is a hearing loop.

  • Family Friendly

    Male, female and disabled toilets (with baby changing facilities) are located next to the visitor centre.

    Play Areas / Adventure Playground

    A play area for all the family is situated near the Wilderness Walk.

    Audio tours are available to education groups. These must be booked in advance are charged at £1 per person.

    Family Learning

    Children's' activity sheets are available, as well as geocaching. Please call site for information about trails.

    English Heritage welcomes all photographers to our sites and we hope you will share your pictures with us on Flickr and Facebook.

    We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.
