New exhibitions mark 200th anniversary of Battle of Waterloo
The Duke of Wellington's handwritten orders from the Battle of Waterloo, his battle sword, and a pair of original 'Wellington Boots' are among the objects that will go on display in two new exhibitions this year. They will be held at Wellington Arch and Apsley House, the two central London properties associated with the battle and its victorious commander.

English Heritage is delighted to announce the opening of 'Childhood at Osborne,' a £1.65m major conservation and interpretation project at the Swiss Cottage. Open to visitors from 1st April and made possible by a grant of £776,400 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and donations from the Garfield Weston Foundation and other donors, 'Childhood at Osborne' will enable families to step into the world of royal childhood at Osborne for the first time.

English Heritage Restores 18th Century Statues Adorning the Gardens at Wrest Park
Expert conservators have begun work to restore a series of 18th century statues which can be found among the colourful flower beds in the French style parterre garden at Wrest Park in Bedfordshire. The 90-acre gardens, in the care of English Heritage, showcase three centuries of garden design, and the restoration of two statues – each over 3 metres tall, marks the start of a wider conservation project restoring statues in the famous parterre gardens which make up some of the 70 plus statues in the garden estate.
