Holiday cottages across our sites, including Coastguard’s Cottage on Lindisfarne and Fort House near St Mawes Castle, are now benefiting from more sustainable Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP). By working with Vaillant, we’re not only reducing carbon footprint of our cottages but also giving visitors the chance to discover first-hand how simple and straightforward Air Source Heat Pumps are to use.
'Working with English Heritage on the installation of air source heat pumps across English Heritage holiday cottages has been a fantastic project,' said Mike Lonergan, Partnerships Manager at Vaillant. 'These installations demonstrate just how suitable heat pumps are for a wide range of building types, helping to challenge common misconceptions about where this technology can be successfully deployed. From snowy conditions on Lindisfarne to a cliff‑top setting in St Mawes, the Vaillant aroTHERM plus performs exceptionally well to create a warm and comfortable stay. It’s a powerful example of how effective retrofit heat pump solutions can be, even in demanding environments.'
Dr Paul Lankester, National Sustainability Lead at English Heritage said, ‘We are committed to finding innovative, environmentally responsible ways to look after the buildings in our care. Working with Vaillant allows us to make meaningful progress in reducing our carbon footprint, without compromising the comfort or character of our holiday cottages and heritage sites. We thank Vaillant for their commitment to carbon reduction and for supporting us as we make our historic places more environmentally sustainable for future generations.’
