Byland Abbey is celebrating the Festival of Archaeology! Join us for specialist guided tours at 2pm on 19th July, 26th July and 2nd August, all run by our expert tour guides.

Guided Tours & Museum.

Our summer opening season runs from 1 April to 31 October 2026. Volunteers will normally be on site, and the museum open, from 12pm to 4pm every Friday to Monday.

An abbey tour will take place at 2pm every Saturday and Sunday. This will last approximately an hour. These tours are free and do not need to be booked.

The above offerings are dependant on the availability of volunteers and the state of the weather.

Byland Abbey Bookshop

Thanks to our amazing volunteers we are able to offer the Byland Abbey bookshop - a second hand bookshop located at the entrance to the Site
