Guided Tours & Museum

Our summer timetable starts on Good Friday, 29 March, and continues until the end of October. Our knowledgeable volunteers will normally be on site from 1pm to 5pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. During this time the museum and second-hand bookshop with be open.

A new feature this year is a display of herbs, in planters in front of the bookshop, which would have been used by the monks for medicinal and other purposes.

There will be a tour every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, lasting for about an hour. If there is the demand, extra tours may be organised at short notice. Tours do not need to be booked, but you are welcome to make enquiries or a booking through

We are pleased to offer a one-off Volunteer-led tour, looking at Dissolution and it's effects on the monastries. Taking place on 2nd June at 2pm, spaces are limited so please book now to avoid disappointment.  Click here to book.

All is dependent on availability of volunteers and the state of the weather.

Please note that during the winter the wonderful tiles are not visible as they are covered with protective material. The covers are normally put down in the autumn and removed in the spring. Exact dates vary according to the vagaries of the weather.
