The partially excavated remains of a Roman 'Saxon Shore' fort, including wall and ditch sections and building foundations. Built around AD 200 for a unit of the Roman army and navy and occupied until the end of the 4th century.

Before You Go
Parking: There is a lay-by off Norwich Road just in front of the site.
Access: The site is mainly flat grass but there are short sets of steps in a couple of places, so wheelchair access is possible except for these few limited areas.
Facilities: There are no facilities on site but it is on the edge of the town of Caister-on-Sea where there are public toilets, shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs and other amenities.
Dogs: Dogs on leads are welcome.

The Row Houses are two rare survivors of the town's original distinctive 'Rows', a crowded network of alleyways linking Yarmouth's three main thoroughfares. These unique and vividly presented houses both show life as it would have been at various stages of their histories, and are a real treasure trove for lovers of period decoration.
