Prepare for a Feast: The King is Coming

KS1, KS2

You’re invited to a banquet for Henry VIII! Through costume and role play, pupils will discover the people who lived and worked at Gainsborough Old Hall. Explore the kitchen and take part in hands-on activities to prepare a feast fit for the king. Enter the Great Hall and learn about Tudor etiquette – remember not to pick your teeth or make rude noises! Take on the role of the guards to keep the king safe, as well as jesters and musicians to entertain him, and let your pupils experience a Tudor household and Henry VIII’s court.
