Feast! A day in the life of a page

In this immersive learning session, your class will take on the role of pages sent to inspect the castle before their master arrives to dine with Countess Joan. Through imaginative role play, your students will join in with the castle’s preparations for the feast to discover who lived at Goodrich Castle and what life was like in the 13th century.

  • Availability: After February half term and March: Wednesday to Friday, April to October: Monday to Friday during term time, November to February half term: Monday and Friday
  • Session lasts for 1 1/2 hours
  • £100 per session

We also offer free planning visits for group leaders once you have made a booking. Our Education Booking Team is on hand to advise and help you create the best possible school trip to suit your needs and area of study.

  • Facilities
    • PARKING: Parking available on site close to the visitor centre.
    • TOILETS: Male, female and disabled toilets available on site. 
    • LUNCH: Picnic areas on site. Teamroom is located on site, available for use by all visitors. 
    • SHOP: Gift shop located within the visitor centre. We recommend you bring your class in small groups at a time.
  • Learning Resources

    A Teachers' Kit is a free educational tool packed with everything you need to give your group a deep insight into the place you are visiting. Featuring historical information, suggestions for activities, and high-quality images, this resource is a comprehensive toolkit for group leaders of various subjects and key stages. Teachers’ Kits also include key site information, facilities and plans.

    With all history GCSEs now requiring a study of the historic environment, we’ve also created a site proposal form to help you with your planning in conjunction with OCR.
