A Wroxeter Experience

Immerse your class in Roman Britain and book a full day of exploration at Wroxeter Roman City. Your class will enjoy a site tour with a costumed guide, expert-led activities, a visit to the Roman Town house and hands-on experiences.

  • Facilities
    • PARKING: Car and coach parking is adjacent to the site.
    • EDUCATION ROOM: The education centre will be available for education group use and should be requested at the time of booking. The handling collection can be requested directly from the site and is subject to appropriate cleaning and quarantining measures.
    • TOILETS: Male and female toilets located at the end of the visitor centre.
    • LUNCH: Lots of outdoor lunch space available. Drinks and snacks are available from the shop.
    • SHOP: There is currently no access to the shop for education groups. Goody bags can be ordered when booking your visit - to be paid by card on the day by the teacher or group leader.
  • Learning Resources

    A Teachers' Kit is a free educational tool packed with everything you need to give your group a deep insight into the place you are visiting. Featuring historical information, suggestions for activities, and high-quality images, this resource is a comprehensive toolkit for group leaders of various subjects and key stages. Teachers’ Kits also include key site information, facilities and plans.

  • Education Site Opening Times

    We offer free self-led education visits during school term time*. From November until March we open exclusively for education groups at selected sites when booking an expert-led Discovery Visit. See our education opening times below for individual site information.

    *Free education visits are not offered on UK public holidays or during the operation of additional fee paying public events at English Heritage sites.

    • April-October: Monday-Sunday 10-5pm. Discovery Visits available Monday-Friday
    • Novemeber: Saturday-Sunday 10-4pm. Discovery Visits available Tuesday-Thursday 
    • December-Febuary: Saturday-Sunday 10-4pm
    • March: Saturday-Sunday 10-4pm. Discovery Visits available Tuesday-Thursday
