You can book online until 8.45am on the day of your visit. You can still buy a ticket when you arrive, but you won’t get the discount. 

Your booking is only for entry to the site or event, and you may need to pay for parking.

Tickets are valid all day, so you can arrive at any time and stay for as long as you like within our opening hours.

Tickets are free for members. You can still book online if you’d like – just remember to bring your English Heritage membership card.

You can join as a member online or during your visit.

Wheelchair Access
Via cobbled pathway. Ground floor area of the courtyard and shop are accessible for wheelchairs. The Castle kitchen, master gunners quarters and original castle entrance are accessible via several steps. Access to upper areas including the viewing platform is via steep historic steps, restricting wheelchair access to the ground floor.

Disabled parking is located in the public car park 600 meters from site (approx five minutes walk away).

Stairs
One from the dining room upstairs to the Children's room - a low beam is present when walking up these stairs. The second stairs are outside and lean onto the picnic area. As these stairs are outside care must be taken in poor weather conditions.

Picnic table situated on the ground level, further picnic areas on the upper terrace in the picnic area, a bench to sit on the green. Also a bench at the end of the long room where one can sit to watch the film about a Yarmouth Shipwreck.

The sea surrounds two sides of this Castle, children must be supervised and in the company of an adult.
Trip Hazard
Some uneven ground.
Sheer Drop
There are 10-15ft drops off the side of the Castle. Barriers and railings are in place. A 'please take care not to have accidents' sign is in place.

Take particular care in icy weather.
Steep Stairs
Narrow access stairs.
Beware Of Traffic
Take care crossing the road outside to gain access to the site.
