TIME11am - 4pm
Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens
SUITABLE FORAdults
This drop-in workshop will give you chance to discover and practice creating an alphabet of letterforms inspired by one instance of Belsay’s Second World War graffiti – the word ‘Knock!’ painted on the door to the pigeon loft / wartime armoury.
From the ‘Ks’, ‘N’, ‘O’, ‘C’ and ‘!’ of ‘Knock!’ we have extrapolated the style and shape of the remaining letters. The full alphabet aims to faithfully reproduce to the lettering style of the anonymous soldier who painted ‘Knock!’, celebrating that person and their lasting contribution to the story of Belsay.
Meet the creator of the alphabet and get the chance to practice drawing the letters through worksheet tutorials.
This event is sutiable for ages 16+.
