Artist Stephen Farthing has long had a fascination with swagger portraiture. This is seen in some of his earliest works as an art student inspired by the grand French court paintings of artist Hyacinthe Rigaud, to more recent works created in response to the 17th-century portraits by William Larkin at Kenwood, London.
