English Heritage has today relaunched its education programme for 2022, in a bid to encourage more schools to take advantage of the benefits of school trips to children’s wellbeing and cross-curricular learning. The programme incorporates both free school trips and expert-led paid-for Discovery Visits at the hundreds of historic sites in the charity’s care.

Roman "Pendants" Revealed to be Ancient Make-Up Applicators
Researchers at English Heritage have discovered that previously identified Roman pendants at Wroxeter Roman City in Shropshire were actually cosmetic sets used for eye make-up, the charity revealed today (18 September). The objects are on display at Wroxeter for the first time from today.

English Heritage has commissioned a series of six portraits from artists celebrating the lives of people of the African diaspora whose stories have contributed to England’s rich history. The paintings, by artists Elena Onwochei-Garcia, Clifton Powell, Glory Samjolly, Mikéla Henry-Lowe, Hannah Uzor and Chloe Cox, will be hung at the English Heritage site connected to its subject this summer, alongside a programme of public events.
