The day-to-day life of the Peels at Marble Hill can be traced through a number of surviving letters that were sent to Alice, particularly when she and Jonathan were apart. They provide an intimate perspective on life on the estate and reveal traces of the experiences of not only the family, but also the servants, staff and even beloved animals, who lived in the iconic Georgian villa.
