There is general parking in the village with 109 spaces including dedicated disabled parking, with approximately a 500 metre walk through the village to the site. Up to 1 hour parking is free, up to 2 hours £1.50, up to 4 hours £2.50 and all day £4.70. Parking is non-refundable and you can pay only with coins. Parking for coaches and minibuses is possible and there is no need to prebook, but the village can be very busy in summer.
Beside minor road to Alcombe, 0.2 mile / 0.3 km north-west of Dunster Parish Church
First bus 28 / 28A provides a frequent service from Taunton (Castle Way), and Minehead (Parade) to Dunster Steep bus stop on the A39. Buses run every 40 mins Mon-Sat, every 90 mins Suns. From this stop it is a 0.6 mile / 1 km walk to the Butter Cross.
The nearest bus stop is Dunster (The Foresters Inn), served by AtWest Bus 198 which operates a limited service Mon-Sat. Also, Exmoor Community Bus Association Bus 678 provides one journey on Thursdays only.
Taunton Station (21 miles / 34 km). Catch Bus 28 / 28A from outside the station (South Side, Stop 1).
Also, West Somerset Railway operating from Bishop’s Lydeard to Minehead serves Dunster Station, 1.1 miles / 1.8 km walk from the Butter Cross.
