Please be aware that, although the beach on the seaward side of the castle is currently closed until some storm damage can be rectified, most of the castle is open to visitors as usual and the walk to it along Hurst Spit is still accessible. Unfortunately it has been necessary to close the WWII room, the laundry room, the searchlight room and the Friends of Hurst Castle rooms to visitors while work takes place to strengthen the shingle bed on which the castle was built. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
