Several cultural icons among those to receive English Heritage blue plaques in 2025, including Marc Bolan, whose ‘glam rock’ innovation redefined London’s music scene in the 1970s; Audrey Hepburn, whose global fame brought international attention and prestige; and Alicia Markova who was instrumental in positioning the city as a centre for world-class ballet.

Tintagel Castle - concept designs for new bridge revealed
Concept designs from the six teams competing to design a new footbridge at Tintagel Castle were today (Thursday 3 December 2015) unveiled by English Heritage. The designs will go on display in Tintagel village from tomorrow and English Heritage is asking the public for their thoughts on the different approaches.

Missing Piece of Stonehenge Returned
A piece of one of the enormous sarsen stones at Stonehenge has been returned to the ancient monument, English Heritage announced today (8 May). The prehistoric stone ‘core’ was removed during archaeological excavations in 1958 and its existence remained largely unknown for the next 60 years. The core will now join English Heritage’s collection of more than 500,000 artefacts and may help to uncover the source of the stones that form the instantly recognisable trilithons and outer circle of Stonehenge.
