  • Parking

    There is no parking on site. Please use the free tourist car park in Boroughbridge village (1 mile from the site). Coaches can drop off at site then park in Boroughbridge. There are no specially allocated disabled parking spaces, but visitors with limited mobility may be able to park at the side of the road.
  • Picnic Area

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to eat in the grounds.
  • Shop

    There is a small shop on site selling some drinks and snacks with a collection of books for adults and children and a range of children's toys and collectables.
  • Toilets

    There are male and female toilets on site.
  • Dogs

    Dogs on lead allowed, although there are restricted areas. Assistance dogs welcome. There is a bowl of water for dogs to drink from.

  • Museum

    The museum is at the front of the site and houses a large collection of objects found in the town. Mainly metal finds.

  • Gardens

    V

    The grounds make up a beautiful Victorian arboretum containing a collection of North American pine trees which are landscaped around the ruins. The site is in a relaxing environment and there is plenty of room for children to play.

    There are some Roman packs available in the museum that look at the site and Roman life in a town.

    Due to the delicate nature of our sites, English Heritage does not permit drone flying from or over sites in our care, except by contractors or partners undertaking flights for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and permissions, and are operating under controlled conditions.
