A pay and display car park is available beside the Nelson Museum on South Quay.

Food And Drink

Hot and cold drinks are available on site from the vending machine/fridge. There is a small selection of cake bars, sweets and savoury snacks available, and ice-cream in the summer.

Shop

A range of English Heritage products are available in the onsite shop inside Row 111 House. Gifts range from English wines and unique gifts for all the family. The themes of the displays on site are also reflected in the range available, with particular focus on World War II. A limited gift range is also available inside the entrance to Old Merchant's House.

Toilets

A unisex toilet is available in Old Merchant's House. There are no specially adapted disabled toilets on site.

Both houses contain a wonderful collection of fixtures and fitting rescued from other now demolished dwellings.

Exhibition

The Row 111 house is shown as it was in 1942, with figures of the three families which then occupied it.

We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.

English Heritage does not permit drone flying from or over sites in our care, except by contractors or partners undertaking flights for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and permissions, and are operating under controlled conditions.
