Middleham Bridge closure: Please follow the below diversions

Following a lorry striking the arch on Middleham Bridge, specialist engineers have now assessed the arch as being structurally unstable so Middleham Bridge on the A6108 between Leyburn and Middleham is now closed to all traffic, including cyclists and pedestrians, until further notice.

If you are coming to Middleham from the south and from the A1, please leave at Junction 50, travel in via Masham and join the A6108 to Middleham. From the north, leave the A1 at Junction 51, Leeming and come in into Bedale and take the B6268 towards Masham to join the A6108.

More local car traffic can also reroute from the A684 via Harmby and Spennithorne, joining the A6108 via the Ulshaw Bridge. This route is not suitable for motor homes, caravans or larger vehicles.
