A rare opportunity to join our historic falconers at work as they take you through a tour of falconry heritage in the company of their professional avian team.

Meet a variety of birds of prey and learn about their histories, including the origin of their names, their acquisition and training and the furniture and equipment used to accommodate them. Understand the traditional language of falconry and have a go at some of the unusual skills unique to the art.

Watch hawks in flight and hunt simulation at close quarters, enjoy the process of carefully learning to handle a trained falconry bird and experience the joy of flying a hawk to the glove.

This event is graded as moderate access it will involve learning the techniques of flying the birds and some of the activities are physical.
