New Year Resolutions Prize Draw
Terms and Conditions
- The Promoter is: The English Heritage Trust, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 7447221 and charity number 1140351 whose registered office is at The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH (‘English Heritage’).
- These terms and conditions apply to the New Year Resolutions Prize Draw (‘the Prize Draw’), running from 12am on 10th January 2024 (‘Opening Date’) until 12pm on 1 March 2024 ('Closing Date').
- The Prize Draw is open to all schools or educational groups in the United Kingdom, excluding anyone professionally connected with this Prize Draw. The person entering the Prize Draw (‘the Entrant’) on behalf of a school or educational group must be over the age of 18.
- To enter the Prize Draw, the Entrant must complete the ‘required’ questions set out within the online survey and provide their contact details.
- Only one entry shall be accepted per Entrant. Entries submitted in any other way or after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified and no responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The prize is one free Discovery Visit to redeem at any of our workshop sites across the country. A unique code will be provided to quote when booking an education visit through our online booking system. The Discovery Visit workshop can be redeemed in academic year 2023 – 24 (January 2024 – July 2024). The Discovery Visit can be redeemed at any of our workshop sites up to the value of £200 for one class.
- No entry fee or purchase is necessary to enter the Prize Draw.
- Contact details supplied by the Entrant when completing the ‘required’ questions set out in the online survey will be used to automatically enter the school or educational group into the Prize Draw. The information supplied with the completed online survey will only be used to contact the Entrant in relation to the prize. The Entrant can opt out of the Prize Draw at any time by emailing bookeducation@english-heritage.org.uk and quoting Opt out New Year Resolutions Prize Draw in the email subject line.
- The Winner will be selected at random week commencing 4 March 2024.
- The Winner chosen by random selection is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Winner will be contacted by email within 2 weeks of the Closing Date by English Heritage.
- If the Winner cannot be contacted within 5 days of notification, English Heritage reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the Winner and offer the prize to another Entrant selected from the entries that were received before the Closing Date.
- There is no alternative prize and the prize may not be transferred to another person.
- By entering the Prize Draw, the school or educational group is consenting to the use of its name and image for publicity purposes on social media channels, websites and in any other media and agrees that a member of staff shall attend any publicity events related to the Prize Draw.
- Entry in the Prize Draw signifies the school or educational group and Entrant’s acceptance of these rules. English Heritage reserves the right to withhold or cancel the prize in the event of non-compliance with these rules. English Heritage also reserves the right at its discretion to change the prize and/or amend the Prize Draw rules at any time.
- English Heritage reserves the right to cancel the Prize Draw at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and/or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
- English Heritage must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation English Heritage will send the name and county of the winning school or educational group to anyone who emails bookeducation@english-heritage.org.uk or writes to English Heritage Education, The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Closing Date. If the winning school or educational group objects to any or all of its name and county being published or made available, please contact English Heritage at: bookeducation@english-herritage.org.uk. In such circumstances, English Heritage must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
- By entering the Prize Draw the Entrant is agreeing that any personal information provided at the point of booking may be held and used by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the Prize Draw. All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including: (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation; (ii) the UK GDPR; and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended. We will keep the Entrant’s personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without the Entrant’s knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. We will keep the Entrant’s personal data only for the purposes of communicating with the Entrant regarding this Prize Draw. The Entrant shall have the right to withdraw their consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- This Prize Draw is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any other social network. The Entrant is providing their information to English Heritage and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/about-us/our-people/our-policies/
- The rules of this Prize Draw shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising out of these terms and conditions.
