Step Back in Time: Volunteer for an Unforgettable Experience at Stonehenge
English Heritage is making history—literally! This year, an extraordinary project will begin at Stonehenge, where volunteers will use experimental archaeology to recreate a giant Neolithic building, transforming it into a living history experience—an immersive, hands-on space where visitors of all ages can step back in time and explore the world of people who lived 5,000 years ago.

Construction will begin in Autumn and is expected to be complete by late Spring. This volunteer-led project will be guided by expert Luke Winter - no experience is needed, as full training will be provided.
There are several ways to get involved: join as a core builder if you’d like to be involved regularly throughout the build. Or, if your time is limited, commitment can be as short as two weeks which can be spread throughout the work.
