Facilities at Kenwood

  • Parking

    V

    Parking charges apply. Free parking for English Heritage members. There are five designated Blue Badge holder parking spaces. Blue Badge holders are welcome to park in any available space free of charge. Please note parking is available only for vehicles that can fit within a marked bay (4.6m x 2.3m). Parking is only available within opening hours and is closed every evening.

  • Food And Drink

    V

    Visitors can enjoy the Brew House Café for a delicious selection of sandwiches, salads, freshly baked cakes and pastries. Visit on a Sunday to enjoy an indulgent roast lunch. You can also grab-and-go with drinks, treats and sandwiches from the Stewards Room café.

  • Picnic Area

    V

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. There are no picnic tables, however there are many wooden benches spread around the site. No BBQs.

  • Shop

    V

    There are three shops open daily at Kenwood, selling a wide range of gifts, lifestyle items, gardening gear and Kenwood keepsakes. There is also a second-hand book shop open Thursday-Sunday, which specialises in holding a well curated selection of art books and classic literature.

  • Toilets

    V

    Male and female toilets are located inside the house and in the Service Wing. There are accessible toilets in the Service Wing next to the Brew House Café.

  • Dogs

    V

    Dogs are welcome guests at Kenwood, and there are plenty of beautiful walks to enjoy with your companion. Visitors with dogs should familiarise themselves with Kenwood's by-laws, which require dogs to be on lead while in the Kenwood estate (dogs may be off leads in the West Meadow only). These are on display by the service wing toilets, or ask a member of staff if you are unsure. Dog water bowls are available outside the cafés, these can be filled up in the bathrooms. Dog bins are located at many convenient locations around site. Assistance dogs are welcome in the house, shops, and cafés.

  • Exhibition

    The Georgian-neoclassical villa is home to a world famous art collection. Guided Tours and Spotlight Talks are available throughout the week, details can be found on the Things to See and Do page.

  • Gardens

    V

    The beautiful grounds around Kenwood and its café are open for visitors all year round. Enjoy these extensive grounds which feature a large parkland area, a historic pasture ground with lake, ancient woodland, and kitchen garden.

    There's plenty of space for children and families to relax, let off steam, or be inspired.

    There are several bike racks outside the Garden Shop as the site is no cycling. Drones are not permitted but kites are very welcome.

    Baby Changing Facilities

    Male and female toilets are located at the house. Male, female and accessible toilets are also available in the Service Wing. One of the accessible toilets contains a baby changing table.

    There are four available - please ask at the café.

    We offer free visits for learning groups where you can lead your own visit with the help of our free downloadable resources. See the School Visits page for more details.  

     

  • Please Be Aware

    V

    Some traffic in the grounds (staff utility vehicles and deliveries). Please also note there are no left luggage facilities at Kenwood, and that large bags are not permitted in the house. Mobility vehicles and wheelchairs are welcome in the house and there is a lift from the ground floor to the first floor to assist those with limited mobility. There are also outdoor wheelchairs available on request - to book please call 0208 348 1286. 

  • Commercial Photograph And Filming

    Photography for commercial reasons (including weddings) must be arranged in advance by contacting the venue hire team. For location hire please go to Filming Locations for more information and contacts.
    All other forms of photography are welcomed and can be shared on your social media.
    We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.
