All throughout August, one lucky visitor each day will get private time inside Stonehenge’s stone circle - no crowds, just you and 5,000 years of history.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • 1. The Promoter

    1.1 The promoter is: English Heritage of The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH.

  • 2. The Prize Draw

    2.1 The title of the prize draw is 'Win Stonehenge to yourself this August.’

  • 3. How to Enter

    3.1 The prize draw will run from 00:01am on 29 July 2026 to 9am on 28 August 2026 inclusive.

    3.2 To be automatically entered into the prize draw, you must:

    • Book a ticket for up to 10 people to Stonehenge with a visit date valid between 1st August 2026 – 31st August 2026 excluding 4th and 25th of August.
    • The booking must be made at least 72 hours before the date of visit
    • The booking must be for no more than 10 people.
    • The ticket must be booked through the English Heritage website.
    • English Heritage Members can enter, but they must still pre-book a ticket.
  • 4. Eligibility

    4.1 To enter the prize draw, you must book a ticket on the English Heritage website to visit Stonehenge with a visit date valid between 1st August 2026 – 31st August 2026 (excluding 4th and 25th August 2026). The ticket must be booked at least 72 hours in advance of your visit and be for no more than 10 people.

    4.2 The prize draw is only open to UK residents aged 18 years or over with eligible bookings, excluding English Heritage employees or members of their immediate families or households. English Heritage reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize draw.

    4.3 One winner per day will be selected from bookings made for visits on or between 1 August to 31 August 2026 (excluding the 4th and 25th of August), provided such bookings have been made at least 72 hours in advance of the booking date. Each winner will be selected at random by English Heritage approximately 48 hours in advance of their booking date. The decision of English Heritage will be final.

    4.4 Any Stonehenge visit tickets purchased during this period with cancelled payments will be removed from the prize draw.

    4.5 The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. If you cannot accept the prize for your date and/or time of visit, the prize will not be transferred for another date or an alternative prize.

  • 5. The Prize

    The Prize includes:

    5.1 Access to the Stone Circle at Stonehenge for you and your booking party (up to 10 persons inclusive) for the day of your booked visit to Stonehenge between the hours of 9.10 – 9:30am.

    5.2 A breakfast roll and hot drink for the winner and each member of their booking group who have taken part in the experience.

    5.3 One winner per day will be randomly selected from people who meet the prize draw criteria.

    5.4 English Heritage reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.

    5.5 Travel, meals, and any expenses not expressly included are excluded.

  • 6. Winner Announcement

    6.1 English Heritage will contact the winner personally at least 48 hours prior to their visit using the contact details provided with the Stonehenge ticket purchase.

    6.2 If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available for acceptance for the prize or otherwise does not respond to English Heritage’s attempts to contact them, the prize will be considered forfeited.

    6.3 English Heritage does not accept any responsibility and is not obliged to offer alternatives if you are not able to take up the prize at the offered time.

    6.4 The winner may be contacted by English Heritage to ask if they and their booking party are willing to partake in promotional activity for the prize draw. They are under no obligation to do so.

  • 7. Limitation of Liability

    7.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, English Heritage, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner and/or members of the winner’s booking party or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of English Heritage, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  • 9. Data Protection and Publicity

    9.1 By entering the prize draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the prize-draw entry may be held and used only by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the prize draw, to process your entry to the Stone Circle.

    9.2 All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including: (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation; (ii) the UK GDPR; (iii) the English Heritage Privacy Policy; and (iv) the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended.

    9.3 We will keep your personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without your knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. We will keep your personal data only for the purposes of communicating with you regarding this prize draw. You shall have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

    9.4 English Heritage must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation English Heritage will send the surname and county of residence of the winner to anyone who emails marketing@english-heritage.org.uk or writes to English Heritage Customer Services, The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon SN2 2EH (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date.

    9.5 If you object to any or all of your surname and county of residence being published or made available, please contact English Heritage. In such circumstances, English Heritage must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

  • 10. General

    10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, English Heritage may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the prize draw.

    10.2 English Heritage reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.

    10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

    10.4 English Heritage reserves the right to amend or withdraw this promotion at any time without prior notice.
