Summer Solstice 2025

Stonehenge was built to align with the sun on the solstices. This year summer solstice will be celebrated from 7pm on Friday 20 June to 8am on Saturday 21 June.

We will be live streaming the summer solstice sunset on the evening of 20 June and sunrise on the morning of 21 June for free on our digital channels. Visit the official Stonehenge or English Heritage Facebook page, or the English Heritage YouTube channel.

If you are thinking of joining us at Stonehenge for this peaceful and special occasion, we ask that you read the information provided and Conditions of Entry before deciding whether to come.

Echoes: Stone Circles, Community and Heritage

Shout Out Loud and Photoworks are bringing together work from three exciting emerging artists—Sally Barton, Serena Burgis, and Yuxi Hou in a special exhibition at Stonehenge.

Through photography, these artists explore the stories and connections that communities find in prehistoric stone circles, and how these ancient places resonate with young people today.

Opening 15 February 2025 and running until 7 September 2025, the exhibition reimagines heritage through a fresh lens, all while hosted at the world’s most famous stone circle, Stonehenge. Image: Sally Barton ©
