Tynemouth Priory and Castle

Tynemouth Priory will be closed on Sunday 25 October due to forecasted dangerously high winds. We always do everything we can to avoid unexpected closures like this. We hope you’ll be able to visit us on another day soon. If you have a booking for a time slot when we’re closed, we will automatically cancel any bookings and make any necessary refunds within 10 working days.

Build your own … forest

Throughout England’s history, people have always been connected to forests, whether they lived in a palace, castle, abbey or village. Forests provided timber for building houses and firewood to keep warm, while kings and queens hunted among the trees.
