SITE CLOSURE

Housesteads Roman Fort will be closed for the rest of today, Saturday 24th October and will remain closed on Sunday 25th of October due to forecasted dangerously high winds. We always do everything we can to avoid unexpected closures like this. We hope you’ll be able to visit us on another day soon. If you have a booking for Sunday the 25th, we will automatically cancel any bookings and make any necessary refunds within 10 working days.

Simply show your ticket to a member of staff when you arrive to receive your discount.

The bus runs all year round between Hexham and Haltwhistle. You can find the timetable here. It also stops at Chesters Roman Fort, and the HW1 bus stops at Birdoswald Roman Fort.
