Stonehenge

Stonehenge is open. Tickets are available to book now. The shop will be open and takeaway catering will be available, but indoor areas will remain closed, and safety measures will be in place to keep everyone safe. You’ll also need to book your visit in advance. Find out more below.

What you need to know

We've made some changes to help keep you safe and as we respond to government guidelines there may be further updates. Here's everything you need to know right now but please check back before you visit.

  • Do we need to Book?

Advance booking is now essential. We have introduced limits on visitor numbers to help keep everyone safe, and you won’t be able to visit without your booking confirmation. If you’re a Member or Local Residents Pass holder, your ticket will be free, but you still need to book in advance. Make sure you've read our ticketing FAQ before you book.

    Booking FAQs

  • Is any part of the site closed?

Yes. While our shop is open with safety measures in place, all other indoor areas, including the exhibition and cafe, are currently closed. We have take away food and drink available.

  • What changes have you made to your facilities?

The Stonehenge stone circle is open, as is our shop, however all indoor areas will remain closed for the time being, including the exhibition and cafe.

We’ve introduced a 2.6 mile circular route to the stones and back on unmade paths through the surrounding ancient landscape which is owned and cared for by the National Trust. There is also a shuttle bus for those who would like to use it.

While our cafe is closed, we're still able to offer take-away options.

The audioguide handsets are not available at the moment but you can download our new audio tour free to your smartphone. Remember to bring your headphones!

    Plan your Visit

  • What are you doing to keep us safe?

We've made a number of changes to help keep you safe. Although things might be a little different when you visit, you’ll still be able to enjoy exploring the places where history really happened. And you’ll still be given a warm and safe welcome by our friendly – if socially distant – staff and volunteers.

You can visit our reopening page for information on general safety measures we've taken to help keep you safe.
