What you need to know

We've made some changes to help keep you safe and as we respond to government guidelines there may be further updates. Here's everything you need to know right now but please check back before you visit.

  • Do we need to Book?

    You don’t need to book your ticket in advance, but you will always get the best price and guaranteed entry by booking online ahead of your visit.
    If you are a Member and wish to book, your ticket is still free. Your booking is for Stonehenge only and does not guarantee a car parking space, which may carry an additional charge.

  • What are you doing to keep us safe?

    Our staff are still working hard to keep everyone safe. We’re continuing with enhanced cleaning and you’ll find hand sanitiser stations on site. You are now legally required to wear face coverings in our shops and on all on-site transport, including the Stonehenge shuttle bus which runs from the Visitor Centre to the Stones.

    You can also help us keep you and other visitors safe by not visiting if you have symptoms, tested positive, or have been asked to self-isolate.

  • Do I need to wear a face covering?

    You are now legally required to wear face coverings in our shops and on all on-site transport, including the Stonehenge shuttle bus which runs from the Visitor Centre to the Stones.

    Our staff continue to wear face covering in our busy areas and indoor spaces, and we strongly encourage you to do the same.

  • Is Winter Solstice 2021 going ahead?

    Planning is underway for the Winter Solstice celebrations at Stonehenge and we are looking forward to welcoming people to the monument on the morning of Wednesday 22 December, subject to public health advice and guidelines nearer the time.

    We advise that if you plan to book travel/accommodation, appropriate insurance is obtained in case public health advice or guidelines change.

This month marks 35 years since Stonehenge, together with Avebury and their surrounding landscape, was ascribed World Heritage Site status by UNESCO. From restoring parts of the monument to improving the visitor experience, we're looking back on what's been achieved over that time.
