Can I attend summer solstice 2021?
With the news that the Government is delaying the lifting of the remaining Covid-19 restrictions on 21 June, we've taken the difficult decision to cancel the celebrations at Stonehenge this year.
However, this year's summer solstice will be live streamed from the stone circle on our social media channels, so you can join us and watch online from home. Last year’s coverage was enjoyed by a record 5.2m audience; don't miss this opportunity to join the celebrations online with millions of others.

Specially for our younger Members, we unravel the mysteries of the world’s most famous ancient site...
...Rising from the grassy plains of Wiltshire, Stonehenge is a mysterious circle of giant stones, created around the same time as the Great Pyramid in Egypt. Neolithic people used it for over 1,000 years. We don’t know why – but there’s a lot we do know.
Discover the secretsThe Stonehenge Skyscape
The Skyscape website has been created by English Heritage to enable people around the world to experience the skies above the iconic stone circle, to learn about movements of the sun, moon and planets and to see the solar alignment at Stonehenge.
Aside from the technical and informational aspects of Skyscape it’s also our hope that you’ll enjoy it from a more human perspective. We’ve created a webpage which offers a small escape, a pleasant place to visit, to which you can return frequently, even within a single day, and connect with the land, the stones and the skies above.

EPISODE 63 - WRITTEN IN THE STARS: SUMMER SOLSTICE AND THE STONE CIRCLES
Under normal circumstances, thousands of people gather at Stonehenge to watch the sun rise over the Heel stone at summer solstice.
