History happened at our 400 sites across the country. From Prehistory, to the Romans, famous battlefields to Medieval castles, our sites cover multiple time periods and topics and can be used to bring history to life for KS1-2 pupils.
A visit at the start of term can be used to inspire your pupils, mid-way through it can consolidate what they've learnt so far, and an end of topic school trip can be a rewarding experience and the culmination of that term's work.
You can visit for free, or enhance your day with an expert-led Discovery Visit. Plus, we offer free planning visits, free resources and hazard information to make your school trip planning as simple as possible.
Inspire your students
Our iconic sites, including Stonehenge, Hadrian's Wall, Battle Abbey and Battlefield and Dover Castle, give your class the chance to stand where history happened.
They can experience for themselves what it was like to be a Roman soldier guarding the wild north-west frontier, or a Saxon or Norman soldier preparing to fight for the throne of England.
